FuGue sTaTe

from FuGue sTaTe (1993) by David Talento

about

Recorded live direct to two track stereo cassette April 19, 1993. Digitally remastered May 1994.

This piece was originally recorded as part of an art installation and aural sculpture and eventually released as part of the "Digital Dilemma" CD as a split with the Sweeping the Noise Floor Sample and Hold EP.

It was performed entirely with one voice and live real-time processing. It is 34 minutes total.

Items used on this recording: Ibanez AD202 analog delay, ART Proverb, Boss RPS10 pitch shifter delay, and an Audio Technica Pro2 DM-405 mic.

The piece concludes with me dangling the microphone from my 3rd story window and recording traffic at 18th and Pine St in Phila Pa.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Almost two decades later I think it still holds up as a good example of what we artsy now old folks did when we were young.
